Fishing in Brittany
Planning a fishing trip to Brittany? France's westernmost region is laced with short, clean rivers running to the Atlantic — the Aulne, Elorn, Scorff, Léguer and Ellé are among the country's best-known salmon and trout waters. Inland you'll find the large Guérledan reservoir and hundreds of kilometres of canals with predators and silver fish.
The rivers fish well for brown trout and sea trout on the fly; salmon fishing in Brittany is suspended by the authorities for the 2025–2026 seasons, so check the current status. Lake Guérledan holds zander, pike and perch. The coast is free to fish — targeting seabass requires the 2026 registration, which we can handle for you.
