Fishing in Corsica
Planning a fishing trip to Corsica? The “island of beauty” hides the wild mountain rivers Tavignano, Golo, Fium'Orbo and Rizzanese and dozens of glacial lakes (Nino, Melo), home to the endemic Corsican macrostigma trout. Fishing here means hiking into canyons with crystal-clear water.
The best fishing runs from spring to early summer before the mountain streams drop; higher lakes fish through the summer. Corsica has its own federations (Corse-du-Sud and Haute-Corse) with local rules — check card validity for your valley and we'll arrange everything. What permit do you need for Corsica?
A carte de pêche is legally required in France for fishing in rivers, canals, and lakes. You choose how long it stays valid (1 day, 7 days, or the annual interfederal card), fill in your details, and we email you the official PDF license. The daily card is valid in the chosen département, the weekly and annual cards in 91 reciprocal départements. No permit is needed at sea — but since 2026, mandatory free registration applies for targeting certain species, which we can also arrange for you.
